Rui Afonso has supported ATP on a number of engagements. He has over 25 years of management and technical experience in the electric power industry with major focus on Research and Development, technology planning and acquisition, new business development and policy alignment.

Previously, as Manager of R&D and Technology Planning/Acquisition for a major electric utility - New England Electric -, he implemented and directed one of the first competitively driven, utility R&D and technology acquisition groups in the industry. He was directly involved in the industry’s first major generation business divestiture in the US.

He has served on many industry technical and policy advisory committees and organizations, contributes regularly to industry symposia, has authored numerous publications and has been the recipient of several technology awards. He is fluent in four languages (English, Portuguese, French and Spanish) and received a Master's Degree from McGill University.

Victor Ciarlante

Victor has provided ATP technical support on some critical programs in the past. He has developed extensive experience in many aspects of post-combustion Emissions Control systems for utility and industrial boilers during his tenure at Foster Wheeler, Ducon Technologies, and Hamon Research-Cottrell. He has made specific contributions in the area of NOx Control (SNCR/SCR) and Acid Gas Scrubbers (Dry/Wet). His varied work background includes responsibilities in Engineering, Project/Proposal Management, and Business Development.

Victor holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers Univ., an MS in Environmental Engineering from University of New Hampshire, and an MBA from Columbia Univ. /London Business School. He is also a registered Professional Engineer in New Jersey.

PATRICK D.C. DUMAS

ATP intends to work cooperatively with Patrick in some of our investment community initiatives. He is a disciplined, team-oriented, senior finance executive with exceptional leadership and communication skills and broad management experience in rapidly growing, global businesses.

He is experienced in U.S. & International Treasury Operations – Capital & Lending Markets – Risk Management Corporate Finance – Business Valuation & Development – Acquisitions & Divestitures – Business Planning - Budgeting – Financial Analysis - International Trading.

As a senior analyst he has performed detailed analysis and valuations of closely held businesses, private equity investments, limited partnerships, equity portfolios, real estate and intellectual property for high net worth investors and estates.

He also served on the Board of Directors of global trading organization where, as member of the owner-manager group, built a 70 person, privately owned sugar merchant into a multi-billion dollar, publicly owned, asset management, broker/dealer, trading and distribution business with over 4,600 employees in 52 countries.
