analysis will assist users perform the following calculations for catalyst
reactors with up to five levels of catalyst and two layers per level.

CAT
MANAGER ™ v 3.0 is very easy to use.
However, it can handle the realistic conditions of different
deactivation rates per level, varying deactivation rates, imperfect ammonia
distribution, and it is extremely flexible with regard to reactor
configuration, catalyst types, lifetime of analysis, and types of management
strategy. CAT MANAGER ™ ver 3.0 can be used to manage SCR systems whether
they are new or they have been in operation for several years.

CAT
MANAGER ™ ver 3.0 performs a simulation of a catalyst management plan based
over a lifetime that the user can vary.
CAT MANAGER ™ ver 3.0 determines when additions, replacement, or
regeneration will be necessary and how much catalyst must be added or replaced
based upon the reactor arrangement, expected deactivation rates, allowable
ammonia slip and other inputs provided by the user. The user can vary the cost of catalyst
addition or replacement/regeneration independently so that regeneration of
existing catalyst can be compared to replacement or addition of new catalyst. CAT MANAGER ™ ver 3.0 also calculates cash
flows resulting from the catalyst management plan and performs Net Present
Value analysis of these cash flows. CAT
MANAGER ™ ver 3.0 can be used to manage SCR systems whether they are new or
they have been in operation for several years, because it is possible to select
the starting activity of each catalyst layer.

Data
is input to a worksheet. The input
worksheet is very well documented with comments so that the user doesn’t need
to rely heavily on the comprehensive documentation that comes with CAT
MANAGER. Once the user has completed
inputting data to the worksheet cells, the user clicks on the “Run Simulation”
button. Upon completion of the
simulation, two seven-page reports are generated that show the results in
graphical and tabular form. One report
shows results plotted against date and the other shows the results plotted
against operating hours.
